How To Make An Instagram Reel In 4 Easy Steps
Today we are going to talk about Instagram Reels! Instagram Reels allows you to create fun and engaging videos to share on your feed, and if your account is public, the explorer page. The videos are short 15 to 30-second reels with audio, effects, and descriptive copy.
Reels are a great way to mix up the type of media in your grid. They offer your audience a more in-depth perspective of your product and service. Additionally, Reels are a fun and effective way to increase engagement and reach on Instagram.
After creating a plethora of Reels ourselves, we broke the process down to four easy and simple steps to easily create your own Reel!
4 Steps To Making An Instagram Reel
1. Prepare A Concept
The purpose of your reel should be to educate or entertain. Reels can bring an authentic personality to your brand or profile. Look through other Instagram Reels that could target your ideal client and ideate what Reel you want to make to represent your product or service. For example, you can have a Reel showcasing a treatment or you can demonstrate three bullet points, or even have a dance party with your staff. The best thing about Reels is they are fun and personable.
2. Film The Necessary Content
It is important to capture the film you want to include in the Reel. Remember the video is short so don’t capture any footage film that is too long or boring. We recommend filming every angle you want at least twice, it is always good to have backups.
3. Use A Film Editor App To Add Music, Effects, & Text
Once you have the footage, now is time to edit and bring your Reel to life! We like using a mix of editing apps such as Tik Tok, Instagram, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro. In an editing app, you can add trendy music that goes along with your video. You can also add effects such as adding glitter or changing the color for transitions. Lastly, we recommend adding legible copy to your Reels highlighting the important parts of the Reel to make sure your audience thoroughly understands, even if their sound isn’t on.
4. Post It
Once you are happy with your edited short video it is time to post it! Make sure that your video is under 30 seconds for Instagram or it will cut it to 30 seconds. When you post to Instagram you will also need to provide correlating captions and any tags you wish to include. Also, you will be able to select the cover of your video as well as crop the profile image that will appear on the grid. Sometimes when you select a section in the video it can be blurry so we recommend using a separate quality photo as the cover image to your Reel. Then you are ready to post and add it to your stories!
